Last Sunday was the inaugural Strictly Bridal “Brides Day Out”. Brides from all over Queensland reserved seats to witness the debut of Ann Wilson exclusive collection. Along with the models the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa looked it’s finest with all the rooms set up for Brides to experience a taste of what’s on offer at the five star resort. Ann Wilson one of Queensland’s most respected names in bridal couture and three times award winner of the Queensland Brides Design Award, recently took the leap into releasing her own self titled collection to the delight of brides all over Australia.
The spectacular show included forty of Ann’s exclusive Bridal gown designs and over one million dollars worth of exquisite Calleija Jewellery worn by the professional models.
Brides-to-be had the opportunity to walk through beautiful event spaces and room themes at the luxurious resort one of the Gold Coast’s most sort-after wedding destinations.
During the Day one lucky bride to be Michelle Paten, walked away with a $5000 “Ultimate Wedding Package. Which comprised of Bridal gown of her choice from Strictly Bridal by Ann Wilson label, four bridesmaid dresses, one nights accommodation in the executive suite including breakfast for two at the Marriott resort and Spa. Bridal hair and Make-up by Lattouf day Spa at the Marriott, three Hours of wedding co-coordinating from the events lounge and a $100 lingery voucher from Simone Perelle, for that little something special underneath.
The audience’s feedback from the show was that Strictly Bridal by Ann Wilson gowns were timeless and exquisite, romantic and fresh. One bride to be Elisha was quoted as saying:
” I wanted a bridal gown from Strictly Bridal by Ann Wilson because I know it will be unique, timeless and of excellent quality. Something I intend to pass down to my daughters one day”.
Channel Nine’s Eva Milic was the host for the event and recalled the numerous occasions she worked for Ann as a young model and how she has enjoyed following Ann’s rise too becoming a leading designer over the last 15 years. Backstage were a hive of excitement with 12 models ranging in size from 8-14 and a variety of ages to catering to the various ages of the audience.
Over the years Ann and Strictly Bridal have forged strong lasting relationships one of which is with former Miss Australia Georgina Denahy who was more than happy to support Ann on her debut.
In addition to the show Modern Weddings Magazine editor Victoria Black, gave a speech on the latest bridal fashions in addition to the twelve steps to create a sensational wedding which had the audience enthralled.
Overall the debut event was a huge success with over 120 brides enjoying the beautiful atmosphere, spectacular fashion show and excellent service that the Surfers Paradise Marriott provided. We all look forward to next years bigger and better “Brides Day Out”.
