How to:

Measure up

for Your Dress

Measuring for your dress is often a controversial subject! We are all about a great cut to give you the perfect fit. This page shows our preferred method so you can do it yourself at home – instructions are provided in the boxes and the image shows where each section is.

  • Stand straight with your feet together.
  • Measure barefoot.
  • Start at the top of your head, pull measuring tape straight down to the floor.

Hollow to Floor

  • Stand straight with your feet together
  • Measure barefoot
  • Begin at the hollow space between the collar bones, pull measuring tape straight down to the floor

  • Do not use your bra size
  • Wear an unpadded bra (our dresses have built-in bras)
  • Relax your arms to the sides
  • Pull the tape across the fullest part of the bust

  • Find the natural waist
  • This is the smallest part of the waist
  • Usually about 1 inch above your belly button
  • Keep tape slightly loose to allow breathing room

  • Find the widest part of the hips
  • Usually about 7 inches below your natural waist
  • The tape should brush across both hip bones
